
In the Frankfurt Altstadt yesterday. Even financial cities have beautiful parts to them.The pretentiousness of the statement irks me.
What’s up with the entirety of America and their constant idealism concerning anything remotely financial, corporate, or even technological? I mean, really. Do they forget that we’d all be toiling away on our respective peices of land farming cotton if it weren’t for American industrialism and corporations? Really, it would suck, guys.
Hmm, I thought I was making a pretty obvious reference to the fact that most financial capitals are full of banks and modern buildings, and therefore, visually unappealing. But since we’re on the subject, let’s remember that there ARE tons of people toiling away, perhaps not on farms but still in equally exploitative situations. And if this is a viewpoint that seems typical of Americans, then thank god, because our country is more responsible than most others for ruthless capital gain.
