The better-known Sex and the Ivy chronicled my adventures as a Harvard undergrad from August 2006 to January 2008. That blog -- along with my sex life -- is in the process of being resurrected.

  1. Weekend in Stuttgart

I spent the weekend in Stuttgart, Germany, which is best-known for being the home of the Porsche and the site of the Mercedes Benz museum. I know plenty of people who would cream their jeans over cars. I am not one of them. Things I did cream my jeans over were the fantastic weather, awesome hotel, and surprisingly beautiful city. I say “surprisingly” because this was kind of a last-minute, unplanned trip. In other words, I chose Stuttgart completely at random for our weekend jaunt and pretty much had no idea what awaited. (Oops?)

I stayed at the Le Meridien with Kennedy and her friend Lucy who was visiting from London. It was across the street from the Schloßgarten (Castle Garden) where I ran this morning. It is HUGE, very pretty, and has a biergarten where we watched the game on Sunday night.

We spent a ton of time in the main square, the Schloßplatz (Castle Square), and on Königstraße (King Street), which is a shopping district that goes for miles. It totally beats the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade, which is really the only other comparable area that comes to mind.

Also visited the pop art exhibition at the Staatsgalerie (State Gallery). I saw a ton of Lichtensteins and Warhols, including the Double Elvis.

All in all, awesome. Dresden next weekend. Cannot wait!
