How To Be A More Efficient Freelance Writer

Things I’m going to start doing:

    1. Bring a super small notepad with me at all times (I always *try* and fail to do this because I choose something too big for my purse). Ditch the tape recorder (works for some people, not for me).
    2. Email myself ideas throughout the day and label them in my Gmail as “IDEAS” or something obvious that I’ll actually look through.
    3. Do more reading. Read while on shuttles, buses, etc. Read before bed. Read during cardio.
    4. Make my friends an active part of my writing process. I don’t get their feedback nearly enough. They also help a lot with brainstorming.
    5. Actually try to learn something new about writing. Be open to instruction. Read the book April let me borrow.
    6. Reach out to more experienced writers.
    7. Post SexandtheIvy-esque entries to my protected LiveJournal instead of in public.
    8. Print out essays, excerpts, quotes, etc. that I am particularly fond of. Keep an “inspiration” book.

    Anyone else have ideas?
