The above chocolate beauty was the centerpiece of the magazine’s 2nd anniversary party at Il Casale tonight. I brought Jason as my +1, and together, we sampled a myriad of savory concoctions, like the particularly memorable Tuscan chicken liver bruschetta and jumbo shrimp with fennel puree. Converting a space formerly used as a firehouse, Il Casale opened earlier this year to rather impressive reviews. Though I doubt I’ll ever make it back out to Belmont, the restaurant is much cooler than anything I could have envisioned in the ‘burbs.

Speaking of Belmont, thanks to the gift bag from tonight’s party, I’m now in position of coupons and certificates from area boutiques I’ll probably never set foot in.
