    Vacation Time

After telling everyone that I’m taking August, I now plan to actually take August off (well, kind of). Tomorrow morning, I’m off to Salzburg with Patrick as my chauffeur. Hamlet, unfortunately, will not be joining us for the opera we’re seeing there, a contemporary rendition of a Mozart piece. (My fingers are crossed that subtitles are not in Italian.) A rough schedule for the rest of the month:

    August 2-4: Salzburg, Austria
    August 4-7: Belgrade, Serbia
    August 7-11: Brissago, Switzerland
    August 11-12: Osnabrück, Germany
August 13-15: Amsterdam, Netherlands (for my 22nd birthday!)
August 16-19?: Ibiza, Spain (to visit Zac, hopefully)
    August ?-25: Osnabrück, Germany
    August 25: Back in Boston

I’m especially looking forward to Switzerland, where I hope to get a tan, do thesis research, and crank out the three articles I promised various folks. I’m probably overcommitted as far as freelancing is concerned, but my bank account certainly doesn’t share that opinion.

As for my day job, working overtime in July served me well. I’m three weeks ahead and going to fully enjoy it. (Quite sad to leave the full-time gig I’ve held since last October, but senior year can’t wait.) Time to indulge in my last days as a non-student.
