With Miss Lena Chen after my talk. She and I have known each other for almost four years now … :)
Anatomy of an Outfit: “First Time At Sloan” Edition
- Forever 21 headband, only worn when dealing with major unwashed hair
- Nanette Lepore dress
- Jimmy Choo flats (from Second Time Around)
- Harvard GSAS tote, accidentally shrunken after last week’s trip to the laundromat
It occurred to me when I frantically called Christine for directions this morning that I’ve never been to Sloan, despite having attended two conferences and more than a few parties at MIT. Is this because I have zero interest in finance, and therefore, am one of the few Harvard kids to have not taken Accounting down the River? Then again, Christine didn’t know where Sloan was either, and she lives approximately a block away.
Somewhere in the above paragraph is a metaphor about the irrelevance of business school, but I can’t bring myself to articulate it right now. Julia’s talk, on the other hand, was extremely relevant. Well, at least for people who write about sex, share too much about their personal life, and get bad press. In other words, I found it utterly fascinating and relatable.
(I originally planned to live-blog this, but Sloan has a no-laptops policy, which made me die a little inside since I toted my eight-pound, skull-emblazoned, pink monstrosity all the way across the Longfellow Bridge.)
